The celebration of tactile hybridity in poetry, print, and performance was organised and by a trio of incredible PhD researchers across Royal Holloway and the University of Westminster - Serafina Lee, Sara O'Brien, and Max Shirley!

'Material Poetics: Drafting, Duration, Form' featured keynotes by Cole Swensen, Jeanne Heuving, and Rachel Blau DuPlessis. The event was jointly supported by TECHNE Doctoral Training Partnership and the Poetics Research Centre at @royalholloway.bsky.social 🧡

In today’s workshop, the MA poets discussed Intergraphia Books and Hazel Press - two independent publishers with radical and distinctive editorial imperatives!

We are overjoyed to welcome Tamsyn Challenger’s tender, unflinching, and urgent Him Hymn into the world today! This publication is Challenger’s debut book of poetry, written with an incredible commitment to an intimate and luminous lyric I💙

Caroline Harris is a writer, editor, founder of Small Birds Press and an Honorary Research Associate at Royal Holloway. Publications include ‘SCRUB Management Handbook No. 1, Mere’ and ‘A Summoning Spell for Lost Deer’ and essays for The Poetry Review and The Blue Notebook

May Dearlove is a writer, performer and Poetic Practice PhD researcher at Royal Holloway, exploring a poetics of cuts, tears and openings in book-works. May has been awarded the LAMDA Lillian Cooper Prize, a Paul Hamlyn Bursary, & nominated for The Forward Prize best single poem

Cat Chong is a poet, publisher, and essayist. They’re the author of Plain Air: An Apology in Transit, 712 stanza homes for the sun, and Dear Lettera 32 among others. They are digital editor at Osmosis Press, and an editor at Pamenar Press

This takeover will celebrate the launch of Cute Swarm by Caroline Harris! Plus readings by Cat Chong, including from Deer/Dear: a collaboration, and a performance by May Dearlove of Singing Bird Box, for which a new collaborative edition is planned with the press!

Do bats fall in love? At the start of this month, I had the absolute honour of writing a poem for a very important wedding ceremony 🖤
