Still useless… randomly loses sync.. sometimes you can recover the playlist, sometimes not, sometimes you can’t even build a new list as it just loses any queue after the current vt… it’s impressive how basic the failure modes are… it’s like there’s no testing

Yup, lost another, and now every time YouTube is wants to run ads it crashes other devices streaming or downloading stuff… so you can’t reliably watch sport on one screen and YouTube on another…

Amusingly they have now started to promote the option of remote control from an iPad/phone etc… so you can interact with posts to a video… really not sure they have tested this, it’s clunky at best… chance of video aborting or other random stuff is super high…

I managed to recover a playlist once, no clue how… can’t do it again…

Still such a shit experience, click up/out at the wrong second and the entire playlist is gone, when you just wanted to clear screen text after a pause…
Really basic UI testing should expose this stuff… really basic!

Will #youtube ever try to actually make this a good experience… they have a lot of content worth watching, but the app is terrible…

It can’t even be arsed now to link to my iOS device to let me set a playlist… they want to make it work better on TV, and yet it gets worse and worse to remote control on a TV… do they have any real world use cases?

It’s amusing how badly placed the ads are aswell… when I say amusing, I do mean deeply frustrating more often than not… could someone do a #youtube that works? #ideas

They seem to have made it worse, now ads are played at a noticeably higher volume than any of the vt’s I’m watching, and as ever, more and more of them…

For clarity, I typically use an iPad to setup a playlist on a Prime stick (could be a smart TV, typically more painful) and thus have a ‘remote’ and a playing device… it seems they only want you to play video by video and playlists are a side issue

Why is the experience of using a YouTube playlist from an Apple device so dire… it’s got worse and worse over time as they make the buttons to add to playlist smaller… and then any time YouTube stumbles it aborts… something which could be so simple, made chaotic through lack of any attention to UX
