WTF. This is HORRENDOUS news, and horribly misguided.

Clinical science is science.

Wowโ€ฆ the explicit exclusion of clinical psych after people have already been working so hard on their applicants is awful. Anyone in/applying to clinical psych programs still planning to apply this year?

This means individuals in the following statuses at the time of application are eligible:

Undergraduate in the final (senior) year of a bachelorโ€™s degree program
Bachelorโ€™s degree-holder with NO enrollment in a graduate degree program (non-degree graduate coursework allowed)
Individual enrolled in a joint bachelorโ€™s-masterโ€™s degree program with at least three undergraduate years completed
First-year graduate student in their first graduate degree program with less than one academic year completed in the degree program (according to institutionโ€™s academic calendar)
Individuals enrolled in joint bachelorโ€™s-masterโ€™s degree programs are considered graduate students. For GRFP, joint bachelorโ€™s-masterโ€™s degrees are defined as degrees concurrently pursued and awarded.
Not be a current NSF employee.

Applications that do not meet eligibility requirements will be returned without review as being ineligible for a fellowship.

Announcing such a major change to NSF GRFP this late in the cycle is incredibly cruel. 2nd yr students (mine included) have been working so hard on their proposals despite ongoing uncertainty. They are driven and passionate about being outstanding scientists and helping those coming up behind them.

Seeking eating disorder book recs! ๐Ÿ“š

Iโ€™m interested in books that take an intersectional or structural view of EDs and treatment systems. For example, Iโ€™ll be rereading Famished: Eating Disorders and Failed Care in America by Rebecca Lester which I loved.

Anyone read A Hunger So Wide and So Deep?

An important point getting overlooked:

When NIH cancels "diversity" grants (e.g., diversity supplements, Fs, Ks, etc), they aren't canceling the grants based on *what* the grant studies.

They're cancelling them based on *who* is doing the research. And that disallowed "who" is anyone not white.

BREAKING: We're suing the National Institutes of Health over their politically-motivated purge of research grants.

This is an unlawful attack on scientific progress that puts lives at risk.

1/x My NIH grant that would collect data to help *prevent suicidal thoughts and behaviors* among LGBTQ+ people was terminated today, along with many other LGBTQ+ focused grants. These terminations make no sense scientifically. Here's why:
