Obviously the next step for Congressional Democrats is to introduce and push a bill which institutes automatic financial penalties (for the org) and non-bonded detention (for the officer) upon DHS officers abusing their power in certain delineated ways.

This goes double for evangelicals who think 'it's all in God's hands, so why worry" while simultaneously throwing the country and its most vulnerable residents into the fire only for the sake of overturning Roe.

The problem as I see it from most Republican voters is that they're politically disengaged enough to be unconcerned with the erosion of democracy, but not so disengaged that they can't be led by the nose to the polls every two years by a "Laken Riley" chant.
