The team has quit on Nurse and Morey.

When does this start to stick to Nurse? This team looks completely lost offensively and defensively.

Here’s the thing — if you are a Trump-supporting teacher, there is no way a Black student can feel safe in your classroom.

That was true before his most recent post, but it is undeniable now.

We have no depth at PG. Until George comes back, we have Grimes, Watford and Edwards as wings off the bench.

We traded McCain for picks in a season where he had a role on the team - and the buyout market is thin.

I could care less about the luxury tax, and I am sick of rooting for assets.

Obviously, what these folks are doing to people is far, far worse than this... but people who kick puppies really are pretty horrible.

The 6 PPG isn't fair. He was clearly not himself for much of the season. Since the new year (where he still was getting back into form), he's averaged 49% from three, and he's been trending upward.

And last night was an example of his role -- we had no shooting off the bench when we needed it.

There's a fatalistic poetry to the Sixers shooting under 20% from three in their first game after the trade.

There is something fatalistically perfect about the #Sixers shooting 18% from three the first game after they trade Jared McCain.

It also is about the team we have... we have *no* depth at PG now. VJ and Maxey can be staggered to each run point when they are out there, but Grimes and Edwards are now our guards off the bench, and neither of them can run point. If either VJ or Maxey need a night off, you might see Watford at PG.

An ancillary outcome of this trade is that it's going to put serious pressure on VJ to run the point when Maxey is out, because Edwards doesn't have that skill set where McCain did.

He was under contract (with team options) for two more years. That gives you two years to see what kind of player he is. If he's a starter, then you move him for greater assets than what you got in a year and a half. If his ceiling is third guard, then you can give him a good contract in two years.

My issue is this... McCain looks like the kind of young "first guard off the bench" player who is who you want as a VJ-Maxx Sixer for a long time.

And we gave him away to get under the luxury tax.

That's not winning basketball - not this year and not for the future.

So it would seem. I *really* think Morey underestimated the chemistry of this team. McCain seems beloved by his teammates.

If Jeff Bezos could afford to spend $75 million on the Melania movie & $500 million for a yacht to sail off to his $55 million wedding to give his wife a $5 million ring, please don't tell me he needed to fire one-third of the Washington Post staff.

Short-term - I get that. Long term… less so.

That does seem like the rumor. Either that or they wanted to deal with the Edwards / McCain / Grimes log-jam.
