Had a great time at the JCC Jewish Cultural Festival Sunday. Thank you for the JCC and CEO Adam Greenman for making a great event. And, I didn't expect to see a giant blow up colon, but they had that too!
16.09.2025 11:36 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Keeping all victims, responders, and families touched by the 9-11 attacks in my heart today. Never forget.
11.09.2025 14:43 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A great accomplishment to make Rhode Island safer from gun violence.
27.06.2025 16:13 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Moms Demand Action volunteers have been working with Rhode Island lawmakers for months to ban the sale of assault weapons. Tonight, a ban FINALLY passed the state legislature!
Weβre so grateful to gun sense champion @jasonknight.bsky.social, who stood up to gun extremists and never backed down. πͺβ€οΈ
This is the result of hard work by @MomsDemand.bsky.social volunteers, @StudentsDemand.bsky.social leaders, and gun safety advocates! βπΎ
I'm grateful to @jasonknight.bsky.social, who has sponsored or cosponsored an assault weapons ban every year since 2018, and was key in getting this passed.
The Assault Weapons Ban bill passed out of committee today and Iβm looking forward to a robust debate and vote this Thursday on the House floor. Thank you to all the advocates who have worked tirelessly for years to get to this day.
03.06.2025 22:14 β π 5 π 2 π¬ 1 π 1Had a great time at @gladlaw.bsky.social's annual RI event last night. They do amazing work for the LGBTQ+ community and I am proud to support them.
29.05.2025 18:40 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This morning I attended the Vietnam Memorial Service in Warren. We remember those who gave their lives in defending our nation, especially the four men from Warren who made the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam.
26.05.2025 00:51 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I just heard the news of the passing of Senate President Dominick Ruggerio. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family, his constituents, and his colleagues. May his memory be a blessing.
21.04.2025 12:12 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The Rhode Island House Judiciary Committee will hold hearings on March 26, 2025, on the assault weapon ban bill. Supporters are encouraged to attend and testify or write letters in favor of the bill. We can and will get this done!

Gotta say, RI needs serious public records reform. Public records should be easily obtainable and free from interference from a local bureaucrat. This bill definitely goes in the wrong direction.
16.03.2025 17:39 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Great to see Sen. Reed in Barrington yesterday at the Soul Force event celebrating civil rights on this MLK weekend. Great event. Great people.

13.12.2024 00:36 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0One of the nice things about the RI court system is that it's small enough that the personal touch still matters. Managed to avoid an unnecessary court appearance tomorrow by talking to the clerks worked some magic. In the larger system that would be near impossible.
11.12.2024 15:27 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Accountability begins at home. We pay DOT to manage our roads and bridges. The failure of the bridge is DOTβs failure. Maybe a vendor is involved but itβs DOTβs failure first and foremost. $45.7 mil so far on an entirely preventable bridge failure. Awful. www.bostonglobe.com/2024/12/11/m...

11.12.2024 14:36 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0RI Leaders, get your act together so we can help people get out from the cold. The bureaucracy is insane and inhumane. These pallet shelters should have been ready months ago. Leadership matters www.providencejournal.com/story/news/p...
07.12.2024 18:02 β π 6 π 1 π¬ 1 π 1I think itβs a bigger problem than that. Rhode Island needs a culture of performance. Take this pallet shelter thing for example, if fire codes are an issue, why not bring in the general assembly to do a quick fix to the fire code instead of having people freeze at night? Just one idea out of many.
07.12.2024 17:46 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0RI has serious problems executing policy. This is just the latest example. Be it pallet shelters, bridges, UHIPβs, or whatever, Iβm often wondering why nobody can explain delays and lack of progress. We need to up our management game.

Who would have guessed that Rhode Island would be a solar electricity powerhouse, now ranking #4 in the U.S. after Nevada, California, and Hawaii in terms of the percent of its yearly-averaged grid plus behind-the-meter electricity demand met solely by solar.
