Yeah they shed their bark at the end of the growing season (usually summer-ish). The new bark is lighter in color and darkens to orange or red over the year.

They’re close relatives so they resemble each other a lot!

It’s hard to accurately describe the beautifully structured and deeply colored branches of manzanita (Arctostaphylos sp.), let alone take photos that do them justice. Truly a sight to behold even when they’re not flowering!

In it, I looked at the body mass of the recently extinct thylacine (aka Tasmanian tiger) & found that it was only about half as big as popularly thought.

Aimaepafi micros (Small blood touch), despite the name, is a relatively large parasitic arthriforme native to the swamps of Nureta-Mori. It feeds upon the blood of large provertebrates.

On average it around the size of an American toad (Anaxyrus americanus).

I liked it a lot but after digesting things I feel it really suffers from disappearing characters and aborted side plots. The ending was also a bit silly and felt rushed, especially with the shows prior pacing. I’d still recommend watching it, especially with how little good Sci-Fi there is nowadays

The Olympic Peninsula, 12,000 years ago. One of the last Pacific Mastodon finds something new on the beach, washed up after last night’s storm. The gulls and scavengers are already fighting over this alien corpse on the sands.
