08.08.2025 23:59 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0e-bikes obviate one of the most annoying things about bikes. having to break a sweat to get to work. now literally the only downside vs. a car isโฆbeing outside? the thing you should be doing anyway?
subsidize e-bikes now!
itโs a symptom of a clear lack of third places

08.08.2025 03:52 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0for sure. I'm really hoping new electeds will change that. Harrell literally lives there so he has a vested interest in making that area car-centric

07.08.2025 21:02 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0no. it's usually easier to undo than to do in the first place. because we're so close to an election I think the best thing to do is to campaign for people like Katie Wilson and Dionne Foster who will take this issue more seriously. we could see positive changes in a few months if they win

BREAKING: Local NIMBY Discovers Capitalism
07.08.2025 01:20 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0exactly! they just use a pretty brick and maybe some arches rather than doing all shape nonsense. there are lots of ways to make buildings pretty and our current culture + design review completely misses the mark
07.08.2025 01:15 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0he could have applied pressure his entire term but only maybe did in the last year, and I'm pretty sure only because of FIFA. I don't think it was high on his priority list
07.08.2025 01:13 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I don't like police presence, especially when they park in bike lanes and the sidewalk. I'd rather have social workers and a bigger focus on shelters, housing, and recovery programs for the people that need it downtown
07.08.2025 01:11 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0I'm not a fan of top-down management forcing people to be in the office. work flexibility makes more sense. everyone's situation is different and each individual should be able to choose how they work. I'd say maybe have one day a week be required for meetings but that's it
07.08.2025 01:10 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I live in Belltown so I'm downtown all the time. yes there are fewer people on 3rd and Pike than there used to be, but the reason that's the case is because of sweeps. Harrell definitely does a lot of sweeps. but sweeps are bad and don't solve problems, just procrastinate them
