The formers in Bothell tried to brand us the same way. It's what people who have no actual argument that resonates with voters do. Just flail around making stuff up in public comment.

It's embarrassing for them, especially with the repudiation they got from Woodinville voters a few months ago.

Still thinking about KUOW's Week in Review Friday, where former city attorney Ann Davison downplayed the role of alcohol in traffic fatalities and Sandeep Kaushik framed a 0.05% BAC level as "nanny state" (but surveillance cameras around the city that could be accessed by the federal gov are not).

So, still just checking my understanding, are they say that by making the escalators/stairs have greater horizontal distance they don't have to dig as deep down? Cause the one formed by the stairs is the only trapezoid I'm seeing in that slide

I'd been sitting in front of King Street Station for thirty minutes at this point and only realized it was the line about 10 minutes before I took the photo, so it's been like this for a while now. There were no extra afternoon trains added afaik

So good to see so many new people taking the Sounder this morning! Lots of people asking questions and station attendants are doing a good job of answering them.

SHIVERS - A grey rain falls on Martinaise. The city soaks in it, cold and dripping. Waves hit the concrete breakers. The homeless huddle by the fires behind the fences. There, among the shacks, is your home. Stay. Have a drink. Forever.

Preliminary numbers show that 40 people were seriously injured or killed on Bellevue streets in 2025 - a record high.

2026 needs to be a year of record-level action and investment in safe infrastructure to turn the tide. Our city cannot wait.

Biggest takeaway from the Paul Rothrock interview is he’s a low-key urbanist. Has real thoughts on commuter vs metro rail, where we should be putting mass transit and expressed an affinity for Olmsted parks.

Working on this the past couple of weeks has been the biggest remedy to my imposter syndrome in *years*.

I'm really proud of the work we've been able to do, and I'm sincerely, *truly* grateful for everybody that has supported us - in whatever form, whenever you could.

Thanks.

A picture from CSB's Parking Day event in September. A lawn bowling kit is present in the foreground. In the background, a family talks with an outreach member from Transit Riders Union around a table with a yellow tablecloth. There is also a space in between with plants and a bench. All objects are in the on-street parking spaces along NE 1st St in Downtown Bellevue.
