It's still wild as hell to me the amount of goodwill this guy burned.

I knew people who idolized him. He could've turned to philanthropy and focused on the space stuff and he'd go down in history despite his bluster instead of being reviled as one of the great evils of our era.

I'm hardly the first person to note this, but it's enormously instructive that our President and his followers saw the message "THE ONLY THING MORE POWERFUL THAN HATE IS LOVE" and understood it, correctly, as an attack on them

It is so fucking pathetic that this has basically become a theater-centric way to show fealty to Trump. You're not a true believer unless you go see the propaganda in person.

This is so cool. I remember specifically stopping by places in Chicago to grab copies of the Onion when I was a kid. Cool to see a resurgence, even if it's only one stand.

This was my first year watching and I loved it. Out of the bits I caught, the art teacher and the drag performance were my favorites, but it was a constant source of entertainment these past days. A needed, temporary, distraction from, well, damn near everything.

The first article I saw from them was a blatant lie - said he was "waving his gun around".

It's crazy the lack of shame people have. Outright lying in the face of video evidence is *something*, I'm not sure what, but I'd feel intensely sick and embarrassed being associated with that rag in any way.

Overall, super memorable. I hope they come back soon spurred by the success of this tour and book a bigger theater/multiple nights so that more fans can come! It's crazy the number of superfans I know who also weren't able to score tickets!

They then did some audience participation to select three people in from the crowd to do some of the classic "minigames" with some local comedians (Deanna Ortiz, Adam Burke). The crowd picks were actually quite good, and although the challenges are not super in-depth, they were fun to see. (2/3)

I was going to send you some pics last night, but I didn't want to rub things in! It was fun! I think they *severely* underestimated their US support because the theater was relatively small and absolutely jammed. Merch sold out quick. The Q+A session was fun, hosted by Aussie contestant Jenny Tian.

It was very fun, but I suspect they had no idea the kind of support they'd have in Chicago/the US. They could've easily filled the Chicago Theater and they sold out of merch *entirely*.

Alex and Greg's banter was as brilliant and hilarious as you'd expect. Hopefully they come back again soon!

I should note - the vast majority of people *did* know what they were for or had heard of them, but the few people who didn't were eager to help, which is awesome.

Related, I was handing out 3D-printed whistles in the Taskmaster line in Chicago last night and assumed people would know what they were for. I was wrong, but they were happy to take them after I explained!

The more people in the know, however long it takes, the better!

Hopefully everyone got the hell away from the dude after the email blast he did, but any lost business is good. I presume he's going to get more and more extreme as it dawns upon him that creatives are overwhelmingly on the left and he can only court so many Nazis before they're tired of stickers.

I'm not sure if it's even conspiracy at this point, but I'd like to see the types of media the "against doing things" people are immersing themselves into, because I've got a suspicion a lot of the apathy is manufactured and encouraged by algorithms on algorithm-heavy sites and amplified by bots.

He could just release the Epstein files like his government has been legally ordered to do instead of running interference and maybe he wouldn't have to field these accusations.

Kind of wish someone would have tried to build a coal plant next to his golf course so he'd be irrationally against coal instead of wind energy.
