I explainee to someone that all the industrial revolution did was exchange artisans for assembly lines to create a capitalist class. They insisted that it meant everyone could buy textiles. They were under the impression that before the 1800s people were plowing fields in the nude

When I had Instagram I had to constantly fight against the algorithm. No matter what I did it always cycled me back towards this bullshit. I tried so hard to cultivate it towards miniatures and funny pet videos to no avail.

See I'm pretty meh on Prometheus but I loved alien earth. Give me an island populated by adult children. Everyone in the show is either a literal child or has the worst case of arrested development I've ever seen and I'm here for it.
The first 2 episodes were legit good though.

3) if its anything more than that you're likely wasting peoples time and having conversations that are better served in different formats or could be solved with oversight monitoring. It's really just "how fast are we able to deliver so other teams aren't waiting on us and we aren't waiting on them"
02.02.2026 21:01 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0
2) it allows your team lead and producer/PO to understand what's causing everyone to slow, where are people moving fast and what's blocking so they can alter the goal of the sprint/iteration accordingly. Can we take on more? Do we need to cut something out? The goal being not clogging the pipelines
02.02.2026 20:59 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
1) Ok....so stand-ups are one of the most misused meetings/ceremonies. Daily stand-ups shouldn't be progress updates or problem discussions. They should really only be used in iterative delivery methods like scrum or kanban. They are basically a daily inspection of sprint/delivery process.

Yup, it's the same thing why Greek and Hebrew alphabets, despite being a completely different syntax, structure and form share similar nomenclature. For instance, it's alphabet vs alefbet. A is alpha in Greek and Alef in Hebrew, beta vs bet, dalet vs delta etc etc.
Language is wild

Yup! Let your experts be experts. I'm the equivalent of a producer in software engineering and my role is to make sure that everyone is on the same page, everyone has what they need to do a good job, and executives are kept as far away from delivery teams as possible.

Blizzard might sell a game cheaper on battlenet, cd might sell a game cheaper on gog. They own those platforms and don't have to pay a fee and would probably prefer their users play on their platforms
29.01.2026 19:23 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
Because if itch or epic takes a 10% cut and steam takes a 30% cut a developer might want to sell on those platforms for slightly cheaper so the customer pays less AND they get paid more.
This isn't complicated
29.01.2026 19:19 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
That's the point. Steam is requiring people to sell games at the same price on other platforms as they do on steam. So if you wanted to sell your game on itch at a cheaper price, you can't because it would violate your agreement with steam (despite itch taking a smaller percentage)

Devs would have to file their own lawsuit which wouldn't hold up as the agreement isn't inherently illegsl. The plaintiff is arguing the agreement creates an unfair marketplace resulting in higher prices for end users and so those users are owed compensation.
