Homotherium is another fascinating genus of non-smilodon prehistoric cats. In North America, Homotherium was a mammoth specialist that cached caves full of young mammoth remains. They were thought to hunt in packs, and probably used their unusually long legs to run down prey instead of ambushing it.

Xenosmilus hodsonae

Unlike the Smilodons (saber toothed cats), Xenosmilus didn't use oversized neck muscles to swing their teeth into a prey item's vulnerable areas. Instead, they had oversized jaw muscles, serrated teeth, and bite mechanics that allowed them to bite massive chunks from their prey.

Absoltute Wonder Woman

Well, DC finally got my attention. Absolute Wonder Woman is a breath of fresh air. Diana was raised in hell by Circe after the Gods exterminated the Amazons. Devoted to Hekate, she's the ultimate Witch of War.

This is silly, stupid, and kinda enjoyable. Michael Dameski was a nice suprise, but bringing back Mark Kanemura, and Jeremy Hudson for the video would have been great.

Stuck in a rut, but here's some old work. Not sure what I was thinking with the black light, and fluorescent paints.

I really enjoyed painting this one. It's 3 overlaying paterns in acrylic monoprinted onto paper, then I pressed a smaller piece I painted on a separate plate directly onto the first one.

Four views of pieces of a bronze ant. At the top, all the pieces of the body (no legs) are laid out on a cutting mat. Then, in three pictures side-by-side, we see the stages of surface finishing described in the post: rough sprue removal, polishing pass, and burnishing pass.

Ant work in progress: preparing the surfaces. Here are three stages: removing sprues, polishing pass in the vibratory tumbler, burnishing pass in the rotary tumbler. I like the texture here, moving to assembly. (Legs still polishing…) 🛠️
