When I was a kid, my granddaddy used to tell me stories about Brer Rabbit. In doing so he brought me into an oral tradition that stretches back thousands of years. I would become an adult and Granddaddy would become an ancestor before I found out the Brer Rabbit stories came from Africa.

The Kheprw Institute and Sheree Renee Thomas curated a Translocal Afrofuturism Gathering. For my part it involved hosting a dinner at the Paul Laurence Dunbar Library and giving a keynote on my Afrofuturism work and bringing the library back.
