Learned this morning that my partner, who votes in every single election, was removed from the voting rolls here in Ohio because of "inactivity." He got it fixed but what the fuck.

Ugh. My health issues suck - one thing that it's hard to get people to understand is that it *doesn't matter* how much sleep I get, if I'm woken in the morning, I can get violently ill.

Finally got this blocked! Well, in the process of blocking, it's drying now. Linen/cotton blend, triangular shawl. Will be for sale (unless someone claims it first) in a couple of weeks after I get good pictures and do updates.

Exactly! If your intention is for the animal to have a permanent home, then you need to match it with the people who seem to be the best fit! Like, actually a best fit, not a "well, we'll try and hope it works". It can be HARD, and take a while!

Yeah, many years ago I volunteered at a place that changed the story based on who was looking at an animal and would straight up lie to adopters (we had a confirmed cat killer adoped out THREE TIMES to families with cats - which he killed). Adoption was political with them too.

I think it's a fantastic skill to have, but you don't have to! I also have used 2 cable needles instead. It is also worth noting that the cable flexibility on the needles makes a HUGE difference in how easily magic loop can be done.

I do like Kiva. There are also a couple of states with a volunteer honor "tax" to tribes (California is one and MN is another, not sure if there are others). In my area (SE MN, SW WI) there's the Land Stewardship Project, which promotes sustainable agriculture. Could be similar local to you?
