Couldn't speak to Americans writ large, but those I've talked with didn't strike me that way. I've watched 'I could get into Canada, I could make it work' confidence fall apart, but that wasn't actually from Americans. Worth noting that every American who's come to me about this was working class.

I wouldn't say that's a factor for any of the Americans who've raised the idea with me, and it's been quite a few. Maybe sometimes some naive 'it's like the US but without the US government' but what I usually hear is more fear, less assumption or presumption. None of them have been 'tourist class.'

The clickbait title aside, this piece is an essential primer for what the Canadian immigration looks like toward Americans in this scenario right now. To the point that the next few times I get the question, it'll be on the 'read this first' list alongside certain IRCC pages.

It's intensely correct! Making students think how the hell a campus could react to even a VERY MODEST wild boar presence has been one of my favorite things for years.

Genuis is right — I support the right to MAiD in principle but how it's been pushed on disabled people has often struck me as cavalier at best.

A narrow, broadly supportable bill, focusing on government employees with a wide exception for doctors and nurses, seems like a legitimately good step.

Nothing made as much difference to my happiness/fulfilment/satisfaction as a writer as when I eventually internalized that 'anything less than a series on library shelves is not failure.' It took way longer than it should have.
