Planetary Research Cooperative Supporting the dissemination of scientific research in planetary science

If you would like to author a post on our site, it is only necessary to become a member of the Planetary Research Cooperative (coop.planetary-research.org). Membership is free after accepting the association’s code of conduct.

Our website (blog.planetary-research.org) will publish announcements, commentaries, research summaries, and blog posts that are of interest to the broad planetary science community. Posts may have co-authors, images and videos. All content is free to access without ads or intrusive trackers.

Have you ever wanted to post a summary of a paper you published, post an announcement for the entire #PlanetaryScience community, or write a blog? If so, you probably realized that there are few good solutions for our community.

The Planetary Research Blog aims to fill this void.

Things we've done so far:

* selected the editorial board
* created a reviewer expertise database (review.planetary-research.org)
* launched a peertube video server (solarsystem.video)
* wrote all the journal policies, and
* launched the journal website (planetary-research.org)

We also provide several #OpenSource internet services that will foster interactions among planetary scientists and that will allow researchers to share their work with the public. We run a #Mattermost server and a #Mastodon instance, and we will launch a #Peertube video server later this year.

Our primary mission is to publish the journal Planetary Research, which will be the first #DiamondOpenAccess journal devoted to our field. This journal will launch at the end of this year and it will be free for authors and free to access.
