Great idea!
12.02.2026 20:10 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Oh no! We had a small lake at one end of our lawn, it has drained away now. 2 years ago we realised that some houses had been built where their foundations were diverting an underground stream into our garden. We got a company to put in some drains - it is much better now.
11.02.2026 18:13 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I saw a bit of sunshine this afternoonโฆ very odd! Then it started to rain again. I like to see all those yellow circles thoughโฆ gardening time!
11.02.2026 16:54 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0No need to apologiseโฆ it may well have been a fake but it is credible.
On another topic, we had a few hours without rain yesterday!
Strangely this Epstein photo has not been shown in any of our newspapers or their online versions.
03.02.2026 12:00 โ ๐ 23 ๐ 17 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 1If I had a choice I would have water from the Alps, clean, fresh-tasting and relatively cheap. A friend brings a 10 litre water tank to UK from France at the end of her holiday- as a treat. When that water comes out of the taps it is very cold - enough to make your teeth want to run away!
29.01.2026 18:15 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0No, I suppose banana skins wouldnโt flush - just flap around in the rush of water โฆ thereโs an image to conjure with!

That price increase is obscene - do they need to do that - or is it plain greed?
Soon after privatisation, they cancelled plans for a new reservoir - they deemed it unnecessary despite the planned expansion in house building. Now they are considering a ยฃ364M project near Canterburyโฆ on or near the original site. ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ
29.01.2026 07:56 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I agree - and they should also renationalise South -East Water who have found it difficult to supply water to the people who are paying for it (24,000 people in T. Wells no water before Xmas) we still have a hose-pipe ban (from July 2025) - because it โtakes a long time to refill the aquifersโ
29.01.2026 07:39 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I note South East Water have rather misunderstood dry January.

Yes, I play the piano every day now. I spent a smallish fortune on a major โserviceโ including new felts and some new strings and after playing some old favourites decided to tackle some of Brahms short pieces
and Iโm enjoying it!
If only someone had told them numerous times that this was a stupid idea.
29.11.2025 04:42 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Happy and healthy New Year MT!
You seem to be in good form so far! We were away for a few days over Christmas and are only just getting over New Year. Thank you messages have been sent, Christmas card spread sheet filled in (yes, really) and Iโve started practising Brahms again.
Happy Christmas MT - from a very chilly Devon! I hope you enjoy your day! Ally

You were right about the increase in butterflies this year, Iโm just reading the RHS magazine and they say that garden butterfly numbers are up 46% compared to 2024- Hooray!
I feel safe in betting that Trump doesn't listen to the Reith Lectures, and that there's a fair chance his gang don't have them on their watch list.
Cutting a line from this morning's lecture will guarantee that they come across them, becaue it's all over the media.
Nice work BBC!

On a different note (almost literally) I am sitting in a cosy room listening to some Brahms - all the shorter piano pieces as played by Igor Levit on CD and at a Wigmore Hall concert we went to. I envy his technique!
