The painting presents a surreal and somewhat unsettling scene. The dominant feature is a dark, almost swamp-like green background densely packed with what appear to be stacks of US dollar bills rendered in muted gray and brown tones, creating a claustrophobic and overwhelming cityscape. The bills are depicted in a jumbled, overlapping manner, suggesting a chaotic and possibly unstable environment. The bills themselves might be suggestive of wealth, but the artistic representation obscures this, shifting the overall impression to one of disquiet and instability. Centrally positioned, a woman with dark hair and a simple white blouse and dark skirt is depicted walking across a narrow, dark gray road that stretches horizontally across the canvas. She appears delicately balanced, as though she is walking a tightrope. Her posture suggests a sense of precariousness and perhaps vulnerability. Her almost ghost-like depiction contrasts against the strong presence of the money. On either side of this road, small, stylized cars – one blue and one red – approach the woman, emphasizing the sense of impending movement and potential conflict or confrontation. These cars are almost toy-like in their simplicity. The overall atmosphere is one of tension and unease.
The artwork is an abstract painting dominated by dark, shadowy forms in black and deep red, creating a dramatic and intense visual experience.
A monochromatic, abstracted painting of a woman riding a vehicle.
A black and white painting of a building with a figure playing the violin and another looking on from above.

The inception of this body of work can be accredited to Sandra’s residency in Banff; one of the few places where the wild has no edges ... a dance of repetitive gestures greatly influenced the playful and provocative portraits of these Beings.
