Always leaving but never going. We are saddened to hear of the passing of Dave Thomas, the legend behind Pere Ubu. Mr. Thomas appeared twice in Plazm magazine. The first time was an interview with Fern Gnesin in Plazm No. 11, published 1995, now shared in our online magazine.

Here in Portland the newly established Office of Arts and Culture has eliminated DEI impact considerations for funding levels, now distributing funds solely based on an organization’s budget size. This is will immediately have a disproportionate impact smaller organizations.

Diversity makes us stronger. There are some who historically have had privilege that see diversity as a threat. This attack from the national stage is impacting many and being felt at a local level. Corporations that remove their diversity programs are being boycotted (👋 Target).
