A look at greens fees at the top 100 public golf courses in the U.S.

Of those appearing on lists by Golf Digest, GOLF, and Golfweek:

• 14 (10%) over $500
• 30 (22%) over $400
• 62 (45%) over $300
• 101 (73%) over $200

It is increasingly complicated to pinpoint greens fees at several top courses. Lots of dynamic pricing. Big shoutout to those keeping updated, transparent, easy-to-understand rates posted on their websites

Average peak greens fees at top 100 U.S. publics:

• Top 10: $606
• Top 25: $493
• Top 50: $388
• Bottom 50: $237
• Entire list: $307

Playing top rated courses is getting damn expensive. Of the 139 golf courses appearing on top 100 U.S. public lists at Golf Digest, GOLF, and Golfweek, there are:

• 14 (10%) over a $500 greens fee
• 30 (22%) over $400
• 62 (45%) over $300
• 101 (73%) over $200
