I wish I could grow them like that. They never do well for me anymore and slowly go downhill after introducing them to the tankπ

The winner of our 2016 Gardens of the Year competition, Steve Moodey, created areas of shade and micro-climates to grow tender tropical plants in his south-facing garden.
What challenges have you tackled in your garden to create your dream space?
Ours is really showing some lovely colours on one stem. An amazing plant to grow ππ§‘β€οΈπ±

The pond was very overgrown with fallen trees until 3 years ago and itβs now starting to throw up some interesting plants (interesting to me anyway)

That looks more like Paulownia to me.

I gave up my subscription when they kept reprinting the old myth that hedgehogs eat all your slugs and snails in the garden (which they donβtπ) Rant over too! π
Oh brilliant! π₯³
I will go and crawl back into my box and shut the lid π
Continue as you are! π€π
I forgot to add the link so will post it here π€ͺπ

Iβm just wondering what you are feeding them?
I may be wrong but that looks like nuts and seeds which are bad to feed to hedgehogs and eventually kill them?
For anyone wanting to feed hedgehogs, please have a read of this rescue advice. Their whole website is a mine of up to date information π
We have a book that we put out on the day for visitors to browse. It shows a few pictures of the garden from the early days of its creation.
1st pic was in 2009 when we first got the keys to the house. π³
2nd pic was probably taken a couple of years later. π€
3rd pic was taken Saturday morning.

Well this is a new one for me!
Iβve never seen or had a dahlia shoot from the middle of tuber before! π³
I even poked my fingers underneath to see if it was rotted or hollow and something was growing up through it but No, itβs definitely coming from the tuber π€·ββοΈ π±
Just been out in the car and would like to ask everyone a favour.
Please be mindful of toads and other amphibians in the road when you are driving. There are many making their way to their spawning grounds after waking from hibernation.
Please slow down a bit and keep an eye out.
The front looks a lot more picturesque than the back that I get to look at at work everyday.

I learned of this word the other day and Iβm trying to use it as often as I can so that hopefully it lodges somewhere in my brain! π¬
Itβs growing close to a clump of Galanthus elwesii (I think) that is also not found anywhere else on the farm so could quite easily be a cross.
Most of the snowdrops on the farm look like these clumps.
Good advice!π
I used to be indecisive but now Iβm just not sure π
