Steve only ever gets one tattoo, and it’s Eddie’s heartbeat on his ring finger. His wedding band mostly covers it, but they know it’s there

I've kept "I hate myself, I hate clover, and I hate bees" pinned above my desk since I first started studying evolutionary biology as an undergraduate. So relatable to get extremely frustrated with your study system.
I’m looking at that little snack plate and Eddie doing everything he can to safely give Steve deli meat and cheese so he can have the charcuterie he’s been craving!!! 🥹 Doing everything to make sure his Stevie is comfy and happy!!!! 💖

12.02.2026 13:27 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Gator's exhausted. It's the hardest thing he's ever done.
He wouldn't trade it for the world.
He pushes so hard that Jack slides right out of him.
Andrew takes longer, nearly twenty more minutes before he follows his brother.
They're both perfect, if a bit small, just above five pounds each. Michael cries silently as he holds Jack, as he watches Steve help Gator with Andrew.
Gator hated being pregnant, but active labor is so much worse. It feels like it's taking forever, but Steve keeps saying how well he's doing. That he's so close to being able to really push.
He's good at following orders, andcwhen Steve says to push, Gator pushes. Hard.
He's felt what Gator's body is feeling and he's loved Gator with every breath. The best thing for Michael to do is support Steve as he stands at Gator's side.
Which is how Eddie walks in on Michael plastered to Steve's back, arms around him, hands supporting his belly, as Steve holds Gator's hand.
Then helping Gator change and grabbing his bag. Holding his hand in the car and talking him through it, showering Gator with gentle praise.
And Michael knows better than to come between Steve and Gator now. He may have taken the birthing classes with Gator, but Steve has done it.
He makes his way carefully to the toilet, only for his water to break before he can get his sweats down. "Steve! I don't think we can wait anymore!"
After that, Steve locks in, waking Michael to drive them to the hospital and calling Eddie. Waking Wayne so he can stay with Lizzy and Matt.
"It'll be a while before you reach active labor. Just take it easy."
Of course, another contraction hits as he says it, one that has Gator cursing under his breath. And he suddenly has to pee once it's over.
Gator's only been allowed to get up to use the bathroom for weeks.
more than Michael bringing him a king size Kit Kat when he gets home from work.
Gator's not lucky enough for all his wishes to come true, but he makes it to full-term. Just makes it.
But his contractions start up in his 36th week, right in the middle of the day. Steve tells him not to worry.
Makes his boys feel like more of a miracle, and he already loves them so much. He just wishes they weren't always pressing on his bladder and trying to come almost two months early.
He'd also like to do fun things while he waits for them, to have the highlight of his day be something
But Doctor Greene pointed it out at the anatony scan: one placenta, one sac. Mono-mono twins. Identical boys.
He'd sorta assumed Steve would be the one to get lucky and have an embryo split, but Steve's having a boy and a girl. Two eggs during a heat, oddly normal.
Plenty of days Lizzy will climb into bed beside him with her favorite picture books, and Gator will read to her while her little hand rests on his belly. She usually falls asleep at his side unless one of the boys is especially active.
He still can't really believe it.
Which means he's the one taking care of Gator, even though he shouldn't be moving around so much either. Steve brings Gator meals and makes sure he always has water and the word search puzzle books that he likes.
In the afternoons they nap together with their big body pillows.
Gator’s doctor puts him on bedrest for the last month of his pregnancy. He hates every second of it, bored and restless, but he’ll do it if it gives his pups more time to develop.
Steve isn’t on bedrest. His body knows what it's doing. He doesn't even have any of those fake contractions.
It’s only fair that they both get twins this time around 😘
10.02.2026 04:03 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Exactly! It’s just Gator’s luck for his first pregnancy to be identical twins, while Steve has fraternal twins since his body is just so ready for more pups 🥰

Also, I am now disturbed that all of the stick family has clothes except the dad? Why no pants for stick dad?
Wayne is still working too! He wants to be the Papaw who is always around, but he can’t and it breaks his heart a little 😭
But he does let the boys talk him into moving into their guest room. LIVE-IN PAPAW WAYNE!!!!
THIS IS WHY I DEFAULT TO HISTORICAL WHEN I GIVE STEVE THE 6+ BABIES HE WANTS! HE’S GOT A BLUE COLLAR MAN!!! Twins is EXPENSIVE, never mind TWO SETS OF TWINS!!!

Now he’s said it, Eddie vaguely remembers Steve mentioning a trust fund. Steve and Gator are both so utterly normal, so happy in their little house, he forgets just how much money the Harringtons come from.
each other and whisper giddily together.
“Four,” Eddie says, still shell-shocked. “How are we gonna afford four more at once?”
Michael slings an arm across his shoulders. “We’ll be fine, we both take overtime, Wayne can put in a good word for me for the night shift opening.”
All the eyes in the room are on them now, and he’s sure the strangers in the obgyn office think something far more scandalous is going on, but Eddie is just glad he hasn’t been hit with the need to barf.
He lets Steve drag him over to show off their ultrasound. Watches as Steve and Gator hold onto
