I have a personal theory that if your favorite Primarch is Guilliman, you have 500+ hours in a 4x game.
Stellaris, Hearts of Iron, EU 4, whatever. You just like empire spreadsheet games lmao.

Made a new #warhammer40k video on the Phoenix Lords! All based on the new models that dropped recently. Models so good it made me reevaluate how much of a hater I have been lol. So go check out my lore video on the coolest models Eldar got!

05.12.2024 00:00 โ ๐ 294 ๐ 59 ๐ฌ 19 ๐ 36I think a Disco Elysium style CRPG for Mage the Ascension would go hard. And fill the hole in my heart for fun intresting WoD games.
I mean DE style in the way of narrative focused, incredibly weird, and similar tone.
But man actually gamifying Mage's magic would be wild lmao.
Last night I went to Cordon and for some wild reason, the game decided to run at a stable 60+ fps. No clue why, it hasn't been since drop. So with a randomly stable game I explored every inch of the area I knew by heart. I was absolutely absorbed. Some of the most fun I had in a game in a long time.
25.11.2024 16:46 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Its the big thing I respect but also imagine (and completely understand) turning away some people. I enjoy games that try to shy away from more standard dice systems. A weird one to relate it to is the board game Call to Adventure. Also a wonky fun one in rolling tiles for successes. More fun imo.
10.11.2024 07:00 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I like games with a bit of rules meat on em. Rules lite is fun and all. Like Fabula Ultima is great. But FFG Star Wars... well its a game that is so fun its one of my favorite ttrpgs despite me really not liking Star Wars that much. I know theres a generic version I gotta check out.
10.11.2024 06:41 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0A big hurdle for that mechanic is telling players "Hey kids! Go nuts! Do anything!" Thats scary. I really enjoy how in this game it has tables. Do you *have* to do these options? No. But it scales the power of the dice and effects. Btw. This is just one table. There are a LOT more in other books.
10.11.2024 06:41 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0That outcome of advantages, disadvantages btw? Up to the player. Narrative mechanics. Other games have this. Fabula Ultima, Legend of the 5 Rings being games I have personally played. But imo, FFG Star Wars is the one that did it best. Giving tools to put up guardrails. Just in case.
10.11.2024 06:41 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0First, dice. Its system looks... overwhelming. But its just 3 catagories of dice canceling each other out. With a good or bad option. You want to succeed, but then can get modifiers changing the actions outcome. By like a LOT. Fail upward, fail completely. Complete success, rocky success, ect.
10.11.2024 06:41 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0There's 2 things in the FFG Star Wars #ttrpg that tickle the brain just right. In a perfect way that I've never had any other game hit since. That being it dice pool system, and player driven narrative mechanic. I wanna talk about it.
10.11.2024 06:41 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 1You know whats cool? #warhammer40k You know whats also cool? Space Marine Liches. I made a video about that.
