With nearly two feet of snow on the ground and temperatures in single digits, it certainly feels like winter...these photos of sycamores and maples along the Chagrin River are from one month ago when Fall was lingering well into November...
Steven Kwan is helping me compile a list of suspects of who pulled down the map in my office. The first name he suggested was the dog.

βWater for the mill, wine for the stomachβ
Spotted in a cafe in Milan. A more whimsical and constructive Italian version of the old adage βwhiskeys for drinking and waters for fightingβ.

One of the most dramatic locations for a cafe Iβve ever seen (look at bottom of photo), just a few tables perched over the cliff above the Tanaro River (trib to Po) in Barbaresco, Piedmont, Italy. Photo from medieval tower that stands over the town).
Iβve been using images of the βvertical forestβ towers in Milan in my power points for a long time. Nice to finally see them.

Monviso, the βStone Kingβ rises in the distance, vineyards of Barbaresco in foreground.
The Po, Italyβs longest river, starts at the base of Monviso. Weβll go visit some spots along the Po tomorrow.
First #WaterYear photo dedicated to water in the form of fog.
Italian word for fog is nebbia and here is a foggy vineyard of Nebbiolo grape near Barolo in the Langhe in Piedmont, Italy, so named because itβs harvested as fog becomes common in the region. Dramatically dreary and beautiful
Iβve got to see that!!!

I took these photos of the Arthur Anderson in 2010 in Huron, Ohio on Lake Erie. Launched in 1952, she is still in active service.

Happy Birthday to Joni Mitchell, whose song "River" is just so beautiful..
On first listen, you may be lulled into thinking this beautiful ballad is a Christmas song. But listen closer and youβll hear a woman lamenting that sheβs torched the relationship...
