But I never received a real apology and after she started speaking to me again she the. Low-key ruined my wedding. So c’est la vie. I have no regrets but I came out at 35, was established in my career, and fully independent so it was really low stakes (except she changed her will)

My partner and I tried to talk it out with her for an hour but she became more adamant. I told her to disown me if she wanted and to call me if she ever stopped being a bigot and wanted to accept her daughter. She didn’t speak to me for over a year. Over the last 7 years things have gotten better

TL;DR she read is this prepared speech informing me of all the irreversible effects of HRT and threatened to disown me if I didn’t transition according to her wishes (which included going “full-time” without any trans affirming care for 3 months & seeking a 2nd option from a therapist of her choice)

I told my mother while she was in-town visiting (she lives further West). I just sat her down (my now wife, who already knew and supported me was there too). My mom initially seemed okay and f flippant. A few weeks later (after a trip to visit her) she called and had a different reaction

No shade to anyone, but I honestly found Twitter to be completely less useful to me as I gained more and more followers. I'm hoping this means I might get to connect with people more again (since it's not a secret that I wasn't really interacting w/ peeps the last few years on the Twits)

As someone who doesn't need a large online following professionally (e.g., writers, journalists, artists, etc.), I am absolutely LOVING not having a couple thousand people see my every dumb thought and joke again.
