A mission to document all the pubs in the Oldham Borough. Any other interesting beer stuff.
Take care fella x
22.02.2026 00:26 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It was hosing down when I arrived in Manchester earlier.
Nothing new, just this City washing away the stench of Fascism.
Pub #88
Bees Knees, Oldham.
When it first opened the lure of comfy chairs and big screen Sky TV spirited a few regulars away from the more cask orientated Venus.
Guinness currently Β£5 a pint was Β£3.80 a year ago.
Well deserved...πΊ
14.02.2026 18:36 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Still to visit the Haggate, good to know there's a decent cask pint waiting for me.

Pub #87
The Top House.
Springhead.
Welcoming sports pub a stones throw from The Front House.
A Free House serving Millstone on my visit.
Yes that's Guinness. The glasses were being washed apparently.
Pub #86
The Front House.
Springhead.
It's been over a year since my visit. A large welcoming one room pub. The opaque windows add an air of mystery. No cask although I have seen pictures of a handpump in use recently.
Not one for the Guinness purist.
Revisiting pub #22
The Weavers Arms.
Back under Lees control and fresh from a mild refurb.
One of the benefits being sky tv, sadly Oldham decided beating 10 men was too difficult.
Lees Bitter on cask boilerhouse pale on keg.
Pub #85
The Windmill, Failsworth.
Large estate pub, sadly closed at the moment.
Visited after a funeral last year. No cask.

I was expecting Team America Fuck Yeah.
23.01.2026 23:07 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Hates too strong.
There's a place for Orange beer even if it gives me a reaction.
Beer fan mild allergy to hops ffs.
That's a 98 FVA and The Lees go back to 95 along with the Thomas Hardy's.
I have cracked quite a few of them open but I prefer to share and let more people enjoy.
Shared most @beernouveau.co.uk but not had an outlet since thier sad demise.
Fortunately @steelfishbrewco.bsky.social exists.
Yeah, should have gone to bed.
23.01.2026 22:35 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Just found this from last week's pub walk. I was five pubs in at this point.
That is some pub door.
I have a beer to finish before I get there. Its a good one too.
23.01.2026 22:15 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0One road five pubs less than a mile from first to last.
Admittedly they aren't my kind of pubs but they have thier own crowd and two of them were properly packed.
But, we don't have any pubs in Oldham apparently.
I am out and about visiting a few new (to me) pubs today.
Have kept the list going but have cut back on the posting recently.
I see the damage social media is doing on a daily basis and it's made me a bit meh about carrying on.
There was nothing at all when I got here.
09.01.2026 13:04 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Still coming down in Watersheddings. Wondering how the drive to Rawtenstall will be tomorrow morning.
08.01.2026 21:26 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Quick check on the "Cellar"
Gave them all a hug and put them back. Maybe next year.
#BskyBeer
Great photography (and beer)
31.12.2025 20:57 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Sounds like my year.
All the best x
When your in a brewery tap and some legend does this.
Reminds me of good times @beernouveau.co.uk
Its dark and cold not the best time for motivation. Take that walk and take care.
20.11.2025 21:33 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Its not even April.
30.10.2025 22:26 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Untappd, you ok hun?
30.10.2025 22:18 β π 5 π 2 π¬ 2 π 0Its worth a pint and I went back a week later to try it without the hype. It's either a good beer or a very clever way to put a Lees beer into lots of new pubs (Shiny new pump, glasses and bar towels included)
26.09.2025 19:38 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Had planned to be there but had a bit of an afternoon.
25.09.2025 20:17 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0 Oldham Pubs away days.
The Five Lamps, Derby.
You are in my neck of the woods and I'm in Derby this weekend would have headed over for a pint with you.
