Well said. I get that when attempting to describe a game it’s always easiest to use something familiar as a point of reference, but when those descriptors get SO overused you end up with things being reduced to

“NON-LINEAR MAP = METROIDVANIA”

or…

“STAMINA BAR = SOULS GAME”

Being too stubborn(stupid) to concede defeat after getting my ass kicked on stream, I came back to Dragon Quest and…beat the entire final boss gauntlet on my first attempt🫠💀

Ok…that was the most egregious example of “JRPG Final Boss” that I’ve ever encountered. God. Damn💀

For containing so many iconic pieces of music in the series, I have to say that Dancing Mad might just be my favorite from any Final Fantasy game and very likely my favorite boss music from ANY VIDEO GAME🎵🔥

That *heartfelt apology* looks a little hollow if you gloat about “beating the mob” afterwards…
