One comparison I haven't seen with the US election is Tory 2019 election. À la Trump Boris remade the Cons in his image, built a wide but ultimately fragile electoral coalition while his mendacity was his downfall both practically and for his party in completely under-delivering on their promises.

I know everyone needs to cope in their own way but everyone claiming that last night's news means this or that for how labour will respond to domestic policy questions need to calm down. American and UK electorates are not the same!
