Today, as I reflect on the state of things—the weight of uncertainty, the resilience required—I find solace in the small marvels of the forest floor. Even in decay, even in struggle, there is beauty, there is purpose, and there is the quiet insistence to keep growing.

I learned last week that my department at Optum is being dissolved, and my colleagues and I will be laid off effective 3/31/25. I am looking actively for a similar job, but they are few and far between.

Hiking in winter feels like walking through a world in waiting. The air is cold, the wind bites, and everything seems still—but beneath the surface, life is preparing. Seeds mix with soil, energy builds, and soon the first wildflowers will emerge. For now, we bundle up and savor the quiet. #Nature

Here in the south, it still resonates with those same people who need someone to tell them what to do bc they haven’t learned how to do so themselves.

Driving south down Highway 7 towards the Buffalo River, I passed three cars heading the other way, including a plow. As I crossed the bridge and glanced to my right, I was met with a view so breathtaking it made my heart tighten, as if I were encountering someone I loved. This is that moment.

It’s why I stopped AA years ago. It’s a cult imo.
