Today we packed the board chambers to remind the County Admin that we will NEVER stop fighting for Solano’s working families! ✊🪧

We’re fighting for our healthcare. We’re fighting for our community. We need a new contract that invests in workers and the services we provide NOW!

In Solano County, our union coalition’s contracts have officially expired. It is egregious that the County is using rising healthcare costs as leverage against dedicated employees and their families who call Solano County home.

Valley Water employees are advocating for a fair contract that invests in the essential work we do to improve South Bay residents’ access to clean and safe water.

We stand on the shoulders of giants like Manong (Ilocano for “elder brother”) Larry Itliong and through our own organizing and collective action, his fight for justice lives on.

Today we honor #LarryItliong, a fearless Filipino American labor leader whose vision and courage helped ignite the farmworker movement. His story reminds us of what is possible when communities come together for fairness and dignity on the job.

Our union coalition turned out in strong numbers this week, and we’ll be back at the Board of Supervisors Meeting this coming Tuesday, 10/28. We won’t stop fighting for our healthcare and public services. No tricks, no treats, FAIR CONTRACT NOW!

Today we gathered on the steps of SF City Hall in solidarity with our union siblings, community members, and elected officials to spread power—not panic. We can protect each other in our workplaces and in our community.

Supervisor demands answers on Mayor Lurie’s unusual tech contract Jackie Fielder is questioning a $5.9 million contract after a Standard investigation found Mayor Daniel Lurie’s office may have given the tech firm preferential treatment.

“Too often we see millions of dollars wasted on private contracts that are unnecessary or overpriced,” said Sarah Perez, Local 21’s vice president, in a statement. “We’re alarmed and disturbed that the city had no intention to see if our existing staff could perform this work."

Lauren Biehle, Project Manager in Solano County’s Health and Social Services Department, and member of Local 21, said: “We’re letting the County know that we are prepared to stand up for the residents we serve, including striking if necessary.” (2/2)

America’s unions were out in force this weekend at No Kings rallies across the country, fighting to protect our health care, federal workers, our essential services and our democracy.

The workers, united, will never be defeated!

Many Local 21 members, like [Jonathan] Knapp, are employees of state, county, or city governments, and saw Saturday’s [No Kings Day] action as a moment to show solidarity with the federal workforce.
