Administrative leave (if it is happening) is not "discipline." In most law enforcement agencies it is standard procedure after any shooting for two reasons: first, because shooting someone is usually traumatic for the shooter, and second because it facilitates investigation.

I'm finding a lot of thoughtful, even eloquent content in my FB feed. I can ignore or block most of the junk. I get info about planned protests on FB. I'm able to communicate with friends I rarely see, and could widen my audience if I wanted to. In spite of its faults, it is valuable social media.
