We all know each other, we know each other's animals, we help each other out. I think some of you have very incorrect ideas about what rural living is like, or very specific ideas that don't hold globally.

I live in one of the most rural spots in the UK, between two villages that are so small they have about 10 households each. Many of my neighbours are part of extended families that have lived here since before records were made. It's a very strong community.

Finally, "linked to cattle ranching" is a weasel phrase. Is it driven by cattle ranching, or is it forest clearance as a timber cash grab followed by soybean farming that strips the soil and then cattle put on when it's not good for anything else?

Also, it's ideal to cycle livestock through arable land to graze crop residue and maintain fertility. So it that statistic "used exclusively for livestock"?

80% agricultural land used for livestock is a meaningless phrase because it doesn't tell you what percentage of that land is suitable for any other kind of agriculture. What you want to know is % ARABLE land used for livestock.

I'm seeing a lot of irate reactions to this story but forest restoration is much more complex and unpredictable than this implies. Just because you leave land vacant doesn't mean that trees will suddenly appear, nor the trees that you would like.

As such this meeting: i. Reiterates the BMA's position on affirming the rights of transgender and non-binary individuals to live their lives with dignity, having their identity respected. ii. Reminds the Supreme Court of the existence of intersex people and reaffirms their right to exist in the gender identity that matches their sense of self, regardless of whether this matches any identity assigned to them at birth. Condemns scientifically illiterate rulings from the Supreme Court, made without consulting relevant experts and stakeholders, that will cause real-world harm to the trans, non-binary and intersex communities in this country. iv. Commits to strive for better access to necessary health services for trans, non-binary and gender-diverse people.
