Graveyard Dandelion

Holy Trinity, Micklegate, York — called one of the five great northern churches. Today it leans humbly into the street, a crooked yet remarkable survival that briefly shone as a centre of European enlightenment, producing illuminated manuscripts.

For a bit more detail: the mosaic depicts the local legend of a dragon slain by Bishop Jocelin. A 🔥curse🔥 states that the slaying has to be commemorated every 50 years otherwise the dragon will return. We're safe for another 26 years...

Looking up into the 15thC pulpit at All Saints, Fotheringhay.
Given to the church by King Edward IV it's richly coloured and decorated with the royal arms and Yorkist emblems.

St Non's Well sits on the cliff top, along the coastal path from St David's, Pembrokeshire.

It is here that St Non reputedly gave birth to her son, later to become St David, in the 6th century. Legend states that a healing spring came forth from the moment he was born.
