Yeah do check it out! There is a low profile adhesive mounting that I'm using, and a more traditional dash/windscreen mount. Between the two of them, it ought to be possible in most cars!

This doesn't support wired Android Auto / CarPlay FWIW

Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto use WiFi Direct for the main connection, so having crap Bluetooth shouldn't affect it. My car doesn't have BT, so I have a 3.5mm to BT adapter running that connects my phone to the car stereo's aux input - might work for you too?
