Every stallion operation should follow suit, particularly for the stallions $30k & under. Kudos to Spendthrift Farm for adjusting course before the breeding sheds open. It's the right thing to do for breeders who struggle to make ends meet.

War Envoy Story Highlights the Vulnerability of Ex-Breeding Stock It was the Christmas present the horses involved didn't deserve, and one that horse racing didn't need. Last month, the Kentucky Humane Society's Equine CARE program rescued 13 horses from a Franklin ...

Excellent story @thetdn.bsky.social from @1danross.bsky.social on the aftercare challenges for breeders. We've had to become detectives to track down some of our horses to give them forever homes. Glad the traceabilility problem is being addressed.

Hacking down tree limbs to get around the farm. All our horses are up in their barns or sheds but still need hay and water. So thankful for our great crew. #WinterStormBlair

I met Jimmy Carter at the Kentucky Derby and when he discovered I was UPI Kentucky State Editor he insisted I come out on the balcony to meet his wife as her family hailed from Kentucky. We spent about 20 minutes chatting before I had to go to file my story. Such a gracious man. RIP Mr. President.

Still pinching myself today. Excited to see what lies ahead for Tizzy in the Sky after her victory in the G3 Go for Wand. We own her dam, Tiz the Tide, who is out of a half-sister to Colonel John and is in foal to Mandaloun. We also have Tizzy's 2024 half-sister by War of Will.

Tizzy in the Sky, who drew the rail in Saturday's G3 Go for Wand, β€œis doing great... her past couple works have been very good. She is a generous horse galloping out all the time, but her gallop-outs lately have been especially good.”
Excited as we own her dam.

Instagrand is an interesting flashpoint in the battle between the 1st-wave sons of Into Mischief at stud, who are compact & muscular (think IG, Practical Joke, Goldencents), and the 2nd-wave sons with more length & classic credentials (Authentic, Life Is Good, etc.), over the future of the sire line

May Day Ready: Japan Holds No Mysteries For Joseph Lee A foreign horse in a familiar place presents a very 'different' challenge for Joseph Lee and his star filly as she eyes off Japanese riches.

Former Godolphin man Joseph Lee has set his stable star May Day Ready an unusual task in attempting to make history in the Hanshin Juvenile Fillies, but it’s a challenge befitting a horse the trainer describes as β€˜different,’ in a land he knows well. πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅

Excited to see Tizzy in the Sky nominated to the G3 Go for Wand at Aqueduct on Dec. 7. Hoping for a fast track. She ran second in the race last year when the track came up muddy. Trained by Todd Pletcher and last seen in the G1 Ogden Phipps, she is out of our mare Tiz the Tide.
