for example there's a pair of authors (in that they're brothers) that I like the worlds of a lot, but I keep getting frustrated by their endings because they don't resolve enough of the questions they make important/interesting by the time they're done with the protagonists' character arcs.

So when you encounter something that doesn't resolve the part of the story the "facts" are doing (no longer necessarily commenting on KH, for the record) but resolves its thematic journey fairly well, your reaction is "well why was the rest of that in there"?
