My only description is done with explaining myself
More than 100 data centres have gone up in the Greater Toronto Area, on Lake Ontario. The Great Lakes region is drawing the facilities because of the favourable climate and abundance of water for cooling systems. What does this mean for our freshwater ecosystems?

Iβve always loved this time of year but living up here I love it even more because itβs the precious time between the snow and black flies lol. Iβve had a Ruffed Grouse hanging around the back of my house lately and this Pine Marten came to visit. Such a sweet animal.
06.05.2025 12:41 β π 4 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Listened to Reveil most of yesterday and fell asleep to its sounds. Woke when it was over, went outside to a sky full of stars, the sound of peepers, and a soft roar from wind or water.
04.05.2025 14:42 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Today is Reveil and you can listen to the world at dawn as it moves across the earth. I participated for a number of years but not this year.

John Scott was the real deal. His brilliance and lack of artifice slices and speaks for his dark content reminding me the best art speaks for itself without the art talk required today. Not that I need reminding. Great exhibition @mcmichaelgallery.bsky.social
01.05.2025 14:33 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Here are my initial thoughts on the 2025 election - what it means for Canada in the short term and what it means for the movement of social democracy in the long.

But annoying that 47 notes appear at the end of the essay and not in the body of the text. Jeez.
26.04.2025 22:37 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβve become interested in Tom Thomson because of living here. I did not see the exhibition North Star at McMichael but recently got the deluxe catalogue out of the local library. I found this essay by Douglas Hunter particularly interesting.

I am very excited to have completed the first draft of my passion project paper (make that PPP), Canadian Dharma History- St. Catharines ON. I have some revisions to make but the finish line is close at hand. I need to find a home for it.
25.03.2025 15:00 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0World Water Day! As we move into an election letβs ensure that our politicians are committed to water as a public trust and human right. (Letβs not forget whoβs got his beady eye on our water.)

In Canada egg prices remain stable. Here's my piece on Trump's disastrous handling of the crisis as avian flu threatens an even bigger disaster.

What a relief to be able to walk again! The trails where I live are made for snowmobiles not feet. Itβs always been difficult in the winter and since my beloved dog died, I just didnβt get out. When Iβm outside walking, I canβt help myself from calling his name. Iβm so grateful for his life.
18.03.2025 15:57 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Recalling 2 fine people in my small rural Ontario community who were somewhat elder to me and were staunch social democrats.
They too faced tear gas in Quebec City.
Both have since died so are not here to say "I told you so".
Part of me is glad they are not here to witness this sh*t show.
Very interesting article, thanks.

This morning I could see the Buddhaβs eyes and now I can see his nose. The sound of snow and ice melting is my favourite right now rivalling that white breasted nuthatch.
