The NIH-funded Haskell-KU Bridges Program was terminated. It was one of the longest running programs of its kind, placing >130 Native American students into STEM labs over the last ~25 years. So many alums spoke of this program as being the entry point to their interest, and later, careers in STEM.

The Trump administration is targeting scientists and unlawfully seizing control of the NOAA, the agency responsible for monitoring and issuing weather alerts. Here’s how this move could have widespread consequences if the administration follows through with the plans laid out in #Project2025.

I maxed out my credit card, emptied my savings account, and took out a loan to move from Alabama to Bethesda, MD. I don’t even qualify for unemployment since I’ve only worked at NIH for a month. I will be financially and medically devastated.

A source at the NIH clinical center tells me that the freeze includes a freeze on procurement. This means that the center, which is a hospital, can’t can’t procure food or medical supplies for patients.
