Happy Starlight. Decided to play with six sided symmetry in an attempt to make a Julian snowflake, but got sidetracked.

A fractal of a series of domes with a ring of fire surrounding the central dome. Licks of flame drift to the right occluding the view. A path is seen in the center going into the distance towards the central dome structure.
This is what I intended to set out to do when I ended up making "Rejecting Specifications" A segment of "Path to Trantor" re-rendered for a booth banner. It'll be a few days before the real rendering finishes cooking.
27.11.2024 13:52 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0It's been a while since I've created a new piece. Probably about this time last year. I just planned on touching up an old existing piece for a larger render. After clearing away layer after layer in frustration, I stumbled on something and ran with it.
It was cathartic to create again.
A series of luminescent curves progressing towards and breaking through the implied box that contains them. A abstract fractal flame involving linear, spherical, swirl and noise transformations.

Sometimes, you have to be willing to step away from how you've been defined to walk a path that better suits you.
