i long to feel
your hands
so strong
yet made for
soft caress
slide down
my hungry skin

What if I say the wrong thing
& it is still okay? Nothing bad
happens,
& there’s no shattering
of whatever spell
has lit itself into being
here—

what if my old fears
fall asleep
in your arms,

& we shed
those deep aches
like old skin—

what if yes
is the only word
that matters
here?

Yes! And most of it is parroting points they see online without understanding the unspoken contradictions in those points. "Doesn't move the plot forward" could apply to so many iconic scenes and "pointless" is antithetical to art in general. It is OK to just be uncomfortable with something.

I agree. I always say there is no way to invalidate them as a part of the art, other than it makes you uncomfortable, which is completely real and valid. Any fabricated idea about the plot or whatever is disingenuous. Being married to an actress, I see the nuance, but art is art.

Don't apologize. Just be real. People being honest and speaking out is what our country needs now
