Soon in my inbox: Hello, it's the Democrats! We have decided to capitulate and cooperate with the fascists. Please donate between 5 and 50 dollars so that we can hire a marketing firm to help Republican politicians like us better. If you don't give, we won't be able to let them strip your rights!

look I know being an engaged citizen IS the work of democracy but it is also the work of elected officials not to create situations where everyone has to be mobilized all the time to prevent them from allowing some kind of Dickensian horror on a Sunday night while you're in between loads of laundry

I love that the Boston cop slide never got fixed and now people just willingly go down it in tribute. It’s basically a national landmark at this point

I think we need to stop calling it empathy and go back to calling it decency. It isn't a favour you're doing someone else, it's you proving that you aren't a fucking ghoul

One thing I love about healthcare in the US is how expensive and useless it is.

Truly the ultimate in conspicuous consumption.

I just think that if you’re okay with people β€” adults, children, the elderly β€” starving, your soul is destined for dark places bc you are an evil person.

Really have to think β€œthese unspeakably evil people went all the way to the highest court in the land to starve poor children” has to be a pretty good message to run on

I can't believe the hospital, which arranged transport from there to the rehab, thought it was a good idea to send the prescription to their pharmacy and not tell his family.

They were closed when he called, but he is going to call tomorrow and ask them to put the pills back, so that he then can fill the prescription locally. He doesn't know the cost yet, but he's going to try and find out and let me know, he says it's possible it will be covered.

Thank you for your kind words and suggestions. Currently, a new pharmacist is on duty today, and is much more helpful. He found out the doctors at the hospital sent the script to a hospital-owned pharmacy, but didn't tell any of us. It's still sitting there, almost an hour away.

Meanwhile he's either without his meds or I guess we're paying $2000. I have to go to work so we can pay our mortgage, but I'm also supposed to be dealing with this and I'm done. I'm out of strength and I don't know what to do. I need sleep and I'm so frustrated and stressed and sad.

Now I have to try and get my husband, who is quite literally having hallucinations and can't tell what is real and what is in his head to call and get me access again. He did not call and remove it.

07.11.2025 10:36 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I called our medical insurance and the access I had yesterday suddenly vanished and they said I have no rights to any information on my husband and refused to assist me. Previous day I was told I had full access.

07.11.2025 10:34 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I'm guessing this was the hospital administering his meds. But the pharmacy can't get any more information, told me to call my insurance. I called our prescription plan, they have no record of the meds or generic being picked up using our prescription plan.

I asked how much it was going to cost. After waiting about 20 minutes, the pharmacist said he could not process it to even get a cost because it was already filled elsewhere on October 27. My husband was still in the hospital.

I worked an almost 10 hour day, spent about 2 hours with my husband, picked up his prescription to take to the pharmacy before they closed.

The rehab/nursing home called me to say a prescription my husband needs would cost $2000 if they provide it, but I can get it for less. They wrote me a script.

Navigating the health care system is a full time job and I have a full time job. I'm not sure how to do this, I'm exhausted and stressed and this one thing might be my breaking point.

I'm one of the four fired employees. I was a writer & producer at Bon AppΓ©tit for nearly five years, during which I helped organize our union and sat on our bargaining committee.

I am, to my knowledge, the only trans woman in our union and the only trans woman on editorial who doesn't work at Them

Statement from The NewsGuild of New York and CondΓ© United
on illegal firing of four union leaders who demanded answers about this week’s layoffs at Teen Vogue, other brands
Late Wednesday night, CondΓ© Nast’s VP of Labor Relations notified the Guild that the Company was immediately terminating four CondΓ© United leaders for engaging in the protected concerted activity of gathering in their 1 World Trade Center office to demand answers on this week’s abrupt layoffs at multiple brands including WIRED and the consolidation at Teen Vogue.
These egregious terminations are a flagrant breach of the Just Cause terms of our contract and an unprecedented violation of their federally protected rights as union members to participate in a collective action.
Through these illegal terminations, CondΓ© Nast management is attempting to intimidate and silence our members' advocacy for the courageous cultural and political journalism of Teen Vogue, as well as diverting attention away from the obvious lack of corporate leadership at the company.
CondΓ© United members illegally fired are:
Alma Avalle: Writer, digital producer at Bon Appetit; NewsGuild of New York first vice president, trans activist, and union leader
Jake Lahut: Wired senior reporter covering the Trump White House
Jasper Lo: Senior fact checker at The New Yorker and US Army veteran: outgoing first vice chair of The New Yorker Union
Ben Dewey: Videographer at CondΓ© Nast Entertainment, former vice chair of the CNE unit
β€œManagement’s attempt at union-busting, using intimidation and grossly illegal tactics to try to suppress protected union activity, will not stand,” said Susan DeCarava, president of The NewsGuild of New York. β€œThe NewsGuild of New York has zero tolerance for bad bosses who harass, target and disrespect our fellow Guild members. We represent nearly 6,000 media workers across the tri-state area and we stand firmly in solidarity, ready to fight for the rights of our members illegally fired from their jobs at …

Breaking News: Late last night Conde Nast illegally fired 4 union organizers who asked company execs to explain the downsizing of Teen Vogue and continued layoffs. We’ve filed a grievance.
