Decent game. Vics had more possession but T&E worked very hard.
T&E 1up ht through neat finish.
Vics levelled early 2nd half & got on top but T&E stood firm.
T&E took lead late on via soft penalty but Vics hit back with last kick of game.
East Cowes Vics 2v2 Totton & Eling.

Rather embarrassingly despite multiple IoW trips over the years to Ryde, Cowes etc have never done East Cowes Vics so finally put that right tonight as off work for visit of Totton & Eling to complete Wessex 1.

OTD 9yrs ago saw a teenage Alfie Rutherford score all 3 in a Bognor 3v0 victory at home to Grays.
2yrs ago saw a local derby between Westbury and Frome in front of a large crowd which was high on effort and enthusiasm but few chances. Westbury edged it with 2nd half goal.

Locks Heath 0v5 Hayling in Hampshire Premier Division. USP 0v0 Fareham and Hamble 7v1 B&L I. Wessex Premier.

OTD saw very good Hayling win 5v0 away at Locks.
Hamble Club win against B&L which I thought may send B&L down but they impressively turned it round to stay up.
Also a forgettable 0v0 between USP v Fareham where they could still be playing now and likely no goals yet.

OTD 92 saw #Pompey 1v0 Forest.
Top atmosphere and result against a Forest side with Keane, Pearce & Sheringham among others.
Macca got the goal, poking home a Crossley fumble.
Shaggy was unplayable at times .

Yeah they were going well. Played them a few days later in the league and got beat.

Probably gets overlooked to derby games, Spurs cup SF etc but 15yrs ago what a performance and atmosphere in a season where it was now clear we were in huge trouble both on and off the pitch.

Crows down to 10 right at the end, harsh red I thought.
Decent game.

0v0ht really really scrappy but still an interesting game to watch.
Lots of fouls without dirty or malicious. Very few chances. Crows may arguably have shaded it.

Norwich very good, well worth win, played some good stuff & worked very hard all game.
Be interested to see how far they can go in the competition this season. Good side.

Norwich very good. Physically much stronger & quicker than AFCB.
1st goal v harsh pen. Horrible collision between CF&GK which was as much them running into each other & ball going away from goal.
2nd goal just before ht excellent solo effort & finish.

Plenty of goals tonight, some good & some bizarre.
Bracknell started well, led twice. Gosport pegged back for 2v2ht.
Gosport better 2nd45 took lead & added 4th via pen with Bracknell going down to 10.
Bracknell pulled 1 back in inj time but unable to make it a nervy finish.

OTD 2011 saw #Pompey beaten 3v1 at the Withdean Stadium by Brighton in the FA cup 3rd round.
Dave Kitson got an early red but doubt that would have made much difference as pretty sure we were terrible throughout anyway.
Chris Wood & Ashley Barnes got 2 of the 3 Brighton goals that day.

AFC Portchester 2v1 Havant & Waterlooville Hampshire Senior Cup QF.
Very young Hawks side took lead & played really well, but a near strength Portchy side proved too strong with 2 goals late on.
Harsh on the youngsters but holders go through to SF.

OTD 2yrs ago I along with everyone else got absolutely soaked in one of the few games to survive the weather.
Two very good sides. NM painfully lost in the PO on pens end of season whilst ANS deservedly won title.

Oh well, story of season away from home. But some positives - remain out of bottom 3 with games in hand, Atkinson performance good, created chances.
Negatives - poor goal given away again, Pack sending off, Sunderland cut through easily 1st half especially.
Tough fixtures this month so go again.

Could be a painful Sunday afternoon but🤞who knows?
