a piece of advice I didn't put in here but I really wish to offer:

if you see a friend 'posting through' some kind of horrible online pile-on event, reach out privately and say the words 'I love you and please stop posting. let's have a phonecall & see each other in person, shall I pop over?'

Do you think this is partly Reserved-For-Settlements-And-Deals money though? I'm tempted to start counting down to announcements on that front...

New book-arrival day! Claire North is a WONDERFUL writer.

If I ever manage to tear myself away from this keyboard *eyes day's music industry news sadly* I can't wait to get stuck in.

Also I love Amorica, I know it's when they started to slide gently out of mainstream interest, but some of the songs are wonderful (to me)

It's cool although I already have the Lost Crowes album they released, which had a lot of the Tall tracks on. Can't afford the box set but glad they're doing it!

Music Ally's guide to micro-dramas – and what they mean for music Very few things wouldn't be improved by the addition of a nine-tailed fox demon, don't you think? It's certainly the case for TV romance.

Spent this afternoon writing about something I'm fascinated by: the world of micro-dramas – and what they could mean for music. I even came up with some ideas, and a TERRIBLE AI-generated teaser for one of them...

Oh yes, agree. I just think it'll have made the famously Tory-dominated readership of the Telegraph choke on their cornflakes. Then again, maybe many of them are Reform now..

Appreciate their principles, but not sure 'We refused to produce Rod Stewart because he's a TORY' is a take that will go down well with readers of an interview in *checks notes* the Daily Telegraph...

I see Robert Jenrick just finished his speech at the Tory conference with "Let’s take our country back". Entirely accidentally *very* similar to an old BNP slogan, of course πŸ€”

It's a private company, Musk can do what he wants etc etc. But I wonder if people realise how much far-right stuff is being shoved at users – a lot of it seems to be happening below the surface of what's easily trackable publicly

I didn't get round to turning off homescreen notifications either. I get one of these every few days - always far-right / pro-Trump things, despite everything its algo should know about me

I don't use my Twitter account any more, but I had to log in to check something.

The 'all notifications' column is 90% far-right tweets. Any basic algorithm analysing at my posting/following history would realise that's anathema to my views.

6 Tommy Robinson tweets in the top 30 served up to me...
