So pretty....one of my favourites. Lovely scent and foliage too.

The marigold (Calendula officinalis) is the last birth flower for those born in #October. Sacred to Apollo, the sun god, its golden blooms were thought to hold protective and healing powers. To keep marigolds in the home was to invite sunlight and good fortune. #folklore #flowers

I have this…..lovely! So healthy, pretty colour & fragrant. A cutting from my father, years ago. Was his favourite.

Not always.....but today mine was The Weatherman by The Gaslight Anthem. Still in my head this lunch time.

A few mangoes left on the tree mark the end of the summer season.

Upon the windy hills, in many a field,
The honey-bees hum slow, above the clover,        
Gleaning the latest sweets its blooms may yield,
  And, knowing that their harvest-time is over…

Good tomatoes this year. Have harvested many already. Mainly Shirley & Gardener’s Delight. Also Ailsa Craig.

Oh thank you.....I think it is, but the colour seems so much paler than the usual darker purple/violet colour. Guess they can come in all shades of mauve.

The summer of 2020 saw the stunning installation of King’s College’s Back Lawn of a wildflower meadow. The conversion of the previously manicured lawn, dating back to 1722, has boosted biodiversity as well as being a glorious sight.

So pleased with this rose. Absolutely Fabulous. Really pretty, healthy & lots of blooms. Bought it cheaply, too.

Loved our visit there.
