Morning!
Enjoy the weekend, I hope it brings joy and good food.
But first...
Tea?
Collage showing three images inspired by the November Mourning Moon. Left: a vintage illustration by Margaret W. Tarrant of an owl and three elves singing beneath a bright full moon. Top right: a golden full moon rising above dark branches. Bottom right: autumn bracken tinged with soft evening light.
In some traditions, Novemberβs #FullMoon is the Mourning Moon, and marks a time of reflection and release. Often the last full moon before the #WinterSolstice, it invites us to grieve what is lost, honour what has been & clear space for renewal in the year ahead. #WednesdayWisdom

Painted by the 20th century British painter and printmaker Freda Marston.
The marigold (Calendula officinalis) is the last birth flower for those born in #October. Sacred to Apollo, the sun god, its golden blooms were thought to hold protective and healing powers. To keep marigolds in the home was to invite sunlight and good fortune. #folklore #flowers

A cooler day, so had a happy day tidying the garden. Oh wish we could get some rain down here. Just had to do a bit of watering...some shrubs & plants are suffering badly.

The summer of 2020 saw the stunning installation of Kingβs Collegeβs Back Lawn of a wildflower meadow. The conversion of the previously manicured lawn, dating back to 1722, has boosted biodiversity as well as being a glorious sight.
