The Mar-a-Lago crew might not care about hurricanes in Florida.
But gutting disaster recovery will hurt the same people Donald Trump promised to help.
Tonight, Senate Republicans are charging ahead with their budget proposal.
They’re making clear who matters to them: billionaires and giant corporations.
And who does not: working families.
“transactional” is such a sweet way of saying “extortive”

No longer.

Um.
It’s almost like they’re trying to control the news.
Executive wants to frame the NIH indirects cut as $4B in savings.
But given that NIH returns $2.5 on every $1 investment, this would actually cost US economy a net $6 BILLION (per year!). Not to mention the human costs of wrecking education and research sectors and the communities they serve.
FACT: USAID funded projects in 120 countries - fighting epidemics, educating children, providing clean water, supporting life saving work.
Now nurses laid off, clinics closed in 25 countries where 2/3 of all child deaths occur.
All because of Trump’s inflated ego.
Text on a background. The text reads as follows: #Shutdown315 Total shutdown On March 15, 2025, everything stops. No work. No shopping. No travel. No compliance. From the cities to the countryside, we shut it all down. They cannot ignore us if the entire nation stands still. This is not a strike. This is not a protest. This is a shutdown. Together, we will freeze the system until they listen. The power is in our hands, let's use it. On March 15, 2026, the country stops. The change begins. The text ends here, and there is a small patriotic emblem and the name "People's Voice" as a signature.
Remember that the people have the power: we are the country, we are the economy. They need us far more than we need them

Here’s one thing that I’m watching with Donald Trump’s tariffs:
Which billionaires and giant corporations will buy themselves loopholes?
In his 1st term, well-connected insiders got tariff waivers.
This is one more way to make corporate CEOs kiss Trump's ring.

I started at CDC in 2010, and I have spent 20 years in public service, including my 15 years in service at the federal level. Here is a little bit of what I wrote in my resignation, because I'm not sure that anyone is actually going to read it. "I feel honored to be among the public health professionals that have had the privilege to work at CDC. As I reflect on my own experiences and accomplishments during my time here, I am humbled by the magnitude and the importance of our work. To my colleagues: we have worked together through chaos and uncertainty, transition, reorganization, preparation, and response. You are the most selfless, dedicated, and passionate people I know. I have watched you work around the clock, take additional details, deployments, and responsibilities, try to balance work and family, forego self-care, and keep pushing and work together to protect the public’s health. I’ve seen your sacrifice. I want you to know that your support and guidance has been invaluable, and I am proud of the work we have accomplished together." While I was backing up files I found my oath that I signed in 2010. I believe in our work, and I am sad to be leaving federal service. But I have immense gratitude for all of the opportunities that I've had and the connections that I've made. I will continue to protect the public's health in a different capacity (stay tuned...) but for now, thank you for trusting me.
The policy lead for CDC's H5N1 response has abruptly resigned.
Sources tell me CDC's response to the bird flu pandemic has been severely hobbled by the chaos of the past two weeks.

As Trump talks about taking over Gaza (“beautiful shoreline”), Greenland (“great minerals”), Panama (“very strategic”), and making Canada the 51st state, the media has gone ape-shite wild.
Meanwhile, Trump’s goons…
Squirrel Alert!
The US is not taking over Gaza.
Musk is taking over NOAA and the Department of Labor.
Let's not miss the real story, one that will affect Americans.
Losing NOAA would be devastating. Project 2025 authors want to get rid of it because it monitors climate change, and privatize the information it currently provides for free, so you'll have to buy information about the weather and the winds (imperative for mariners).
