Hoju Koolander

First time watch of this classic. I can see why it was so popular. In my youth Joe Don Baker was just the angry boss from Congo, James Bond’s buddy from Goldeneye and Mitchell from MST3K. But he’s a full fledged movie star in this one.

So I was watching the cult classic film ARENA from 1989 and can’t believe the star, Paul Satterfield wasn’t cast as Superman after Christopher Reeve bowed out of playing the role in the 90s (before his accident). The guy is like his twin in both looks and acting style!

As a follow up to my previous post, it fills me with joy to wake up at 2am, turn on the TV and without pulling out my DVD set, see my favorite Bayside teacher being sassy to A.C. Slater in Drivers Ed 😄

Of course the default on our smart TV is the Saved By The Bell channel, so every time we power on it’s Bayside fun to The Max 😉

I’m excited for this The Naked Gun remake, so I’m busting out my “Naked Guns” trilogy VHS box set this week.

One more reason Small Wonder is my favorite 80s sitcom. Where else would you see “Harriet Winslow” playing a cop who goes undercover as a convict while wearing a Misfits t-shirt?

He was a true icon of multiple decades.

The last decade hasn’t been great for his legacy, but the Hulkster starred in my favorite meta/4th wall breaking movie cameo of all time in Gremlins 2 and for that I will give him a moment of silence like the one he fought so hard for in that movie theater in 1990.

Gotta be honest, it’s not quite in the Allred style I would prefer. But I’m very impressed by The Rocketeer and Chairface Chippendale 😃

One more #fantasticfour pizza box adds to the hype for what’s shaping up to be a fun time at the movies this week.

This was a fun conversation about a cartoon universe that meant a lot to me as a kid. Do I still like this Hanna-Barbera classic? I Scooby-Doobie-Doo!

I got a real kick out of the live feed of the #fantasticfour premiere broadcast on Disney+ tonight. They really went all out on the design for the event, so fun.

After a false alarm last week, finally got to see Superman at the theater today. My son loved Mr. Terrific, I’m a Guy Gardner man and the new Lois and Clark dynamic was pretty fantastic. What I really walked away with though is that the Edgar Wright Running Man remake looks awesome.

I get the biggest thrill out of my 6 year old passing the time on summer road trips by playing Kirby’s Dreamland on the original Game Boy.

I believe they refer to that as “User Error” 😄
