That's perfectly fine. You can choose not to engage with this, to not care about it. But do not trounce on people that do care, that do want this story told and are upset Disney suits decided it wasn't worth telling after every creative at Lucasfilm thought it was.

What's strange is you bringing up a real person as a comparison for one that is not. While that would make sense if the character was inspired by such real person, the character was not. Thus, it is a very stupid rhetorical question.

Many Star Wars villains have a fascist aesthetic, yes. Andor made some of those elements more explicitly political.

But the Skywalkers are a mythic family, like the House of Atreus or Arthur. "Redemption" in this context is not about politics.

This was my exact response. We absolutely want more Finn stuff BUT Finn was not the one who had a movie get cancelled by Disney executives. Who’s to say Finn wouldn’t have been in the movie anyways.

It's just very telling the way certain people never mention Finn until they need to weaponize him against fans of Ben Solo.

If only both characters had been done justice (RIP Stormtrooper Rebellion plotline), perhaps we would be free.

I absolutely agree. I think Kenobi would have been a movie instead of a show without Disney involved though. I believe it was Chapek who wanted it on Disney+

My big Star Wars hot take is that when they announced the title Rise of Skywalker, I was 100% convinced it was gonna end with Rey starting a new order of force users called Skywalkers instead of Jedi. And I'm still mad that wasn't the actual ending.

They wanted well written characters, played by great actors, you gave them Jeremy Allen White as Rotta the Hutt. They wanted meaningful stories, you gave them Sidequest: The Movie. Remember when going to see a Star Wars movie felt like the event of a lifetime? These days, the announcement of a cancelled Star Wars project is more interesting than an actual movie that comes out 6 months from now. When they ask you who destroyed Star Wars, know the right answer. It's not Kathleen Kennedy. It's the greedy Disney CEOs up top. It's those who no longer see stories, only revenue.

I don't see how any of this requires his permanent death. That moment was about choice. He chose to give his life for Rey and that's what redeems him - his choice redeems him.

But other people in the story also have a choice to save him in return.
