Cooking with a gas stove top can add up to +130ppb peak over background while cooking. Cooking with a gas oven can add up to +300ppb over background.
A poorly ventilated apartment can easily still be at +40ppb above background many hours later after you cooked dinner and went to bed.

Kill you? No, not unless you have an already extremely serious breathing condition.
The 2008 study mentioned in the article says, roughly, for 'regular' asthmatics, every +20ppb of NOx will increase your symptomatic rates by 10-15% during that time.

Hot take of the day:
Don't call yourself a frickin' "post-human" (or "transhuman", for that matter) unless you've read "Schismatrix" by Bruce Sterling and know what it means. It's not teh same thing as posthumanism in philosophy.

I feel that you've misread that thread. Firstly it seems to be mostly talking about college & university libraries. Secondly, where public libraries are referenced people clearly talk about having designated areas for differing noise levels when the building is large enough, like KPL Central is.

I think you're confusing a library with a community centre where hustle and bustle and the noises of fun are expected and quiet spaces are set off and signed. Libraries are the inverse--quiet expected, noisy areas set apart and signed.

Sure, modern libraries do a lot more than just loan books. They have *separate* kids areas, presentation halls, and group rooms for a reason. The little cafรฉs aren't there to be bustling chatter hubs. They're there for people to enjoy a latte while reading or doing their project research in peace.

The kids area is in the back so there's a clear delineation there. Kids shouldn't be yelling & running around the front reading/working area. And that's still a cafรฉ in a library where you expect peace and quiet, not in a downtown square where you expect conversations and noise. Context matters.

If you want to set and have a conversation with your friend, go to a fricking #cafรฉ, not the #library. Libraries are for *silent* reading or working unless you've booked a meeting room. ๐ก

What would you call a monster that looks like a cross between a pterodactyl and a Canada goose? It does the type of physical damages from claws and beak you'd expect from an avian being, it's real damage is emotional from the mocking and scathing insults it parrots back.
Mockdactyl? Pterogatory?

This was a PITA to make work, getting characters to align so that the letters in either script looks properly kerned, to emulate word-wrapping. Took forever, but it's fully #CSS, no #JavaScript.
Got the idea from #MurderbotDiaries where displays would show a sci-fi script and then wipe to English.

If you use #ZFS and need help managing your snapshots please try my update and report any bugs that you find and features you think would be useful. I'd really like to keep this too alive and current and useful for the community.
And I wouldn't complain if you gave it a star on Github. ๐

I have it making snapshots monthly, weekly, daily, hourly, and every 15 minutes and deleting older ones (e.g. only 48 hourlies and 62 dailies) so they don't pile up.
So I added a feature and incorporated a bunch of others and some bug fixes that had been languishing in the original repo.
