At a vigil in Montreal for the child victims of Israel’s genocide of Palestinians, advocates have been reading each of these children’s names — from youngest to oldest.
They started at 8:00am. By 9:00pm, they had only reached the names of the nine-year-olds.

I'm mostly just sad because I appreciated being a member of my professional association and wish I still had that community, but I couldn't renew based on them defending my harassers -- even as they wouldn't go out of their way to defend other journalists.
I had hoped they'd make it right. :(

The low bar for accessing government news subsidies
Publishing hateful or inaccurate content is not necessarily disqualifying, says chair of the advisory board that determines eligibility
The CAJ's explanation was that Western Standard technically qualifies for journalism subsidies and they don't want to adjudicate who is a journalist.
But things happen to journalists that they ignore, so they did NOT have to go out of their way to write a press release legitimizing these guys.

I'm so glad my former professional association, the Canadian Association of Journalists, went out of their way to defend the press freedom of these "journalists."
Now this harassment is a "related story" to their writeup of the CAJ's support.
It honestly just makes me so sad.
