changing my title to "Smasher of Org Silos"

every team focuses on their charter. rightfully so, I guess. but occasionally there needs to be someone chiming in and saying "hey, have you chatted with that team over there? they seem to be making things with a similar shape..."

technically I'm still a software developer, but nowadays I tend to focus on miscellaneous things, and "org silos" is one of the big things (if not the biggest) that I watch out for and attempt to fix

1) not reading anything for months

or

2) reading 150 pages per night

Yeah, during the first part of my career, my sole focus was on skills and learning.

Nowadays I also like to make sure I'm connecting with folks (networking).

I don't regret my path, but ultimately I think both (skills + networking) are valuable.
